Sadness

I am in shock and saddened by the news of the events that took place today in Boston. My husband and I went there for our 2nd year anniversary in October, and fell in love with the city. It is beautiful and rich with American history.

I love history!

I love history!

When I first heard of the incident, I immediately thought of my friend Jenn. We roomed together my senior year of college, and have stayed in touch. She told us about her hotel she works at and how it is really popular during the Boston marathon because of the location. I remember seeing a instagram picture she posted of the finish line, around the time of the explosions. And that’s when my emotions took over.
She later posted on facebook that she was okay, and that cell service was down. I am so thankful she is safe, but cannot stop thinking of all of the victims.

I will be praying for all of those involved, and especially the Boston community. I am giving blood on Wednesday, it is the smallest of things I can do. And I will also keep running. The running community is strong, supportive and definitely will not let fear take over.
